
The Gananda Rotary Club was chartered in 1989 to serve the Gananda School District and the surrounding towns of Walworth and Macedon.
Rotary's motto is Service Above Self, and our mission is to: improve the quality of human life in our community and throughout the world, through financial support and by volunteering our services. Our vision is to be great ambassadors for Rotary, striving always to offer Service About Self. We give back, make a difference, and encourage high ethical standards within our community and our world.
The Gananda Rotary Club is very active in our School District, Towns, County, State, Country and Internationally. Gananda Rotary members have taken part in many activities over the past 18 years including: Presenting dictionaries to each third grader at the Richard Mann Elementary School each year with our Dictionary Project, raising money for the "Shelter Box Project" to serve the worldwide homeless victims in times of disaster, raising funds to deliver a fire truck to a Native American Reservation in South Dakota, sponsoring and participatiing in the Annual Rotary Spelling Bee and local events which raise money for Literacy Volunteers of Wayne County, running the annual Gananda Garage Sale, holding local food drives for the Walworth and Macedon food pantries, sponsoring Red Cross Blood Drives throughout the community, Cooking food for such events as The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, Palmyra's Canaltown Days and the Gananda Garage Sale, and working on Playground projects in the Town of Walworth and at the Gananda Schools.
Gananda Rotary offers college scholarships through the Dollars for Scholars program at Gananda. We have donated funds to housing a foreign exchange student from Brazil and many scouting and student leadership groups. The Gananda Rotary meets every Monday night at 6:00 p.m. for a dinner meeting at the Log Cabin Restaurant, at West Walworth and Route 31F in Macedon.
